Al Davis would never have made that trade
One of the great owner in NFL history has to be looking down on his team and wondering what the heck are you doing. I've been a fan of Al Davis the maverick owner of the Oakland Raiders from day one of the merger of the AFL and NFL. You could call Al Davis a lot of things ( egotistical, bullish in his thinking, and a very hard owner to work for as a head coach ) however the one thing Al Davis wasn't is stupid. This was a man who help shape NFL football into the game we have come to love today.
" Just win baby " was his motto, but no way he's gives up what could amount to first's round draft picks in 2012 and 2013 to get a quarterback well past his prime. No matter what spin Oakland's coach Hue Jackson try's to put on this trade, it has no upside. Winning a division title is to high a price to pay, because Carson Palmer is not the piece that get's you a Super Bowl.
